Redirected from Life on Mars (Dexter Wansel album)). Dexter Gilman Wansel (born August 22, 1950) is an American keyboardist, raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He contributed to the development of the Philly Sound and worked with producers Gamble and Huff at Philadelphia International Records. Wansel was a member of the groups Yellow Sunshine, and Instant Funk.

After recording four album for Philadelphia International including the classic Life On Mars, Dexter moved labels to 10 Records part of Virgin Records. The Captured album was originally released in 1986 and featured the vocal talents of The Jones Girls (Shirley, Brenda & Valorie), Pearl Williams Jones, Bunny Sigler & Cynthia Biggs.
