Produced by Erik Jacobsen. Album Do You Believe in Magic. Do You Believe in Magic Lyrics. Do you believe in magic in a young girl's heart How the music can free her whenever it starts? And it's magic if the music is groovy It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your soul But it's like tryna tell a stranger 'bout-a rock and roll. If you believe in magic, come along with me We'll dance until morning till there's just you and me And maybe, if the music is right I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see How the magic's in the music and the music's in me. Yeah Do you believe in magic? Yeah Believe in the magic of the young girl's soul Believe in the magic of-a rock and roll Believe in the magic that can set you free Ohh, talking 'bout the magic. Do you believe like I believe?)

The album also revealed the group's jug band roots in its arrangements of traditional songs like "Fishin' Blues" and "Wild About My Lovin'" and revealed that lead guitarist Zal Yanovsky and drummer Joe Butler, while not quite in Sebastian's league, were good singers as well. The Spoonful would be remembered as a vehicle for Sebastian's songwriting, but Do You Believe in Magic was a well-rounded collection that demonstrated their effectiveness as a group.

Only 3 left in stock (more on the way). In the fall of '65, The Spoonful burst onto the national scene with their Top Ten single, "Do You Believe in Magic. It was the first of a string of ten hits over the next two years. The other hit from their debut was a second John Sebastian-penned song, "Did You Ever Have To Make Up Your Mind?" The other group originals (all written by Sebastian) were "Younger Girl," "On the Road Again" and the instrumental "Night Owl Blues," named for the Night Owl Cafe where the early Spoonful honed their music. it's a pretty good album if you get it at the right price also it's a great debut album by the lovin spoonful.
